Innovative Medical Storage Solutions for Healthcare Delivery

University Hospital Trust

In the fast-paced world of healthcare, protecting and organising critical equipment can make the difference between life and death. The following case studies showcase how our customised storage solutions are addressing specific challenges across healthcare settings.

From protective cases for delicate syringe pumps to emergency response kits and specialised training equipment storage, these examples demonstrate how thoughtful design can support healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional care.

University Hospital Trust Leicester

A durable plastic carry case was designed and manufactured with custom internal foam to securely house the McKinley T34 Syringe Pump, a critical device used in palliative care. The case features branding for easy identification and to help ensure the equipment is returned to University Hospitals Leicester. Additionally, a designated space on the front allows for the optional inclusion of a return address.

For this medical equipment kit, we specifically selected a plastic case due to its durability, providing full protection during transit. Its wipeable surface also allows for easy cleaning with sterile solutions, ensuring hygiene standards are maintained.

The custom-cut internal foam is designed with precision to securely hold each component, offering both impact protection and a quick visual inventory check. This helps verify that the kit is complete before being issued to patients or the care team, ensuring the availability of all necessary equipment.

Supplied empty, it serves as a versatile solution for storing essential equipment and literature for wall mounting. The case ensures quick and easy access in situations where sepsis is suspected, enabling staff to promptly begin patient assessment and treatment.

Other healthcare projects have included the supply of similar solutions to private companies that manufacture healthcare and medical products. One such project involved a manufacturer of teaching aids, supplying training materials for trainee surgeons. Another focused on developing a home dialysis machine transport solution.
